Cumberland House News November 2021

We’re always busy progressing Cumberland House and the past few months have been a busy time...

The front path and steps to the front door have been restructured in keeping with the age and style of the property and the perimeter wall has been refurbished and raised in order to provide guests with truly secure parking during their stays with us. There is still much to be done but we are excited about the end result which will be a great improvement for our guests.

In the meantime the garden is being revised and replanted to create a water wise paradise of indigenous plants which will frame the house with beautiful flowers to attract the wonderful variety of birds and butterflies which Port Alfred is so famous for.

Cumberland House News June 2021 !

Welcome to the 1st edition of Cumberland house news! June was a very exciting month for us, and we thoroughly enjoyed hosting Lloyd Edwards from Raggy Charters for a fabulous evening learning about whale watching, as the mighty beasts made their way north past Port Alfred in their annual migration. Our manager Bram laid on a splendid feast and we very much enjoyed company and participation of all our guests. We hope this will become an annual event at Cumberland house.

Although restrictions continue to limit us, we have come up with some great ideas for the reopening next week. Why not celebrate Christmas in July with us on Saturday 31st July, where you can enjoy Bram's great cooking and bring a bottle of your favourite drink to celebrate midwinter in historic style in front of a crackling open fire in our beautiful dining room. As ever, numbers are restricted so get in touch with us today to book your place.

Our last exciting news is for the ladies - come and enjoy a girls night in at Cumberland house where we have teamed up with serenity spa to offer small groups of ladies the opportunity to relax and enjoy an evening of cocktails and indulgence. Whether you want a massage or official this will be I lovely treat!
